Percy the Penguin was a very stylish bird. He always wore a fedora hat that matched his black and white feathers. He lived in a cozy igloo near the South Pole, where he enjoyed reading books and drinking hot chocolate.
One day, Percy received an invitation from his cousin Penelope, who lived on the other side of the continent. She was having a big family reunion, and she wanted Percy to come and join the fun. Percy was very excited, as he had not seen his relatives in a long time. He decided to bring a special gift for Penelope: a beautiful dining table and chairs, made of the finest wood.
But there was a problem. Percy did not know how to make wood furniture. He had never even seen a tree in his life. He wondered who could help him with this task. He thought of his friend Wesley, the Woodpecker.
Wesley was a talented carpenter, who loved to carve wood furniture. He lived in a forest far away from the icy lands of the penguins. He had met Percy on one of his travels, and they had become good friends. Percy decided to call Wesley and ask for his help.
"Hello, Wesley, this is Percy. How are you?" Percy
said on the phone.
"Hi, Percy, I'm fine. What's up?" Wesley replied.
"Well, I have a favor to ask you. I need a dining table and chairs for my cousin's family reunion. Can you make them for me?" Percy asked.
"Sure, I can do that. But how will you get them to your cousin? They are too big to fit in your suitcase." Wesley said.
"Don't worry, I have a plan. I'll rent a helicopter and fly them over. It will be a surprise." Percy said.
"OK, then. When do you need them by?" Wesley asked.
"By next week. Is that enough time?" Percy said.
"That's cutting it close, but I think I can manage. I'll get to work right away. See you soon, Percy." Wesley said.
"Thank you so much, Wesley. You're the best. See you soon." Percy said.
Percy hung up the phone and smiled. He was happy that Wesley agreed to help him. He packed his bags and got ready for his trip.
A few days later, Percy arrived at Wesley's forest. He was
amazed by the sight of the green trees and the colorful flowers. He found
Wesley's workshop, where he saw his friend busy with his tools.
"Hi, Wesley, I'm here." Percy said.
"Hi, Percy, welcome. Come and see what I made for you." Wesley said.
Wesley led Percy to a large wooden table and four matching chairs. They were carved with intricate patterns and painted with bright colors. They looked stunning.
"Wow, Wesley, these are amazing. You are so talented. Thank you so much." Percy said.
"You're welcome, Percy. I'm glad you like them. I hope your cousin will like them too." Wesley said.
"I'm sure she will. She will be so happy. Come on, let's load them on the helicopter and fly to her place." Percy said.
"OK, let's go." Wesley said.
Percy and Wesley loaded the furniture on the helicopter and took off. They flew over the ocean, the mountains, and the snow. They enjoyed the view and chatted along the way.
Soon, they reached Penelope's igloo, where they saw a lot of
penguins gathered outside. They landed the helicopter and unloaded the
furniture. They carried them to the door and knocked.
"Who is it?" Penelope's voice came from inside.
"It's me, Percy, your cousin. I have a surprise for you." Percy said.
"Really? What is it?" Penelope said.
"Open the door and see for yourself." Percy said.
Penelope opened the door and gasped. She saw Percy and Wesley holding the dining table and chairs. She was speechless.
"Percy, what is this? Where did you get these?" Penelope asked.
"These are for you, Penelope. A gift from me and my friend Wesley. He made them for you. Aren't they beautiful?" Percy said.
"They are gorgeous. I can't believe it. How did you do this?" Penelope said.
"Well, it's a long story. Let me introduce you to Wesley. He's a woodpecker, and he's the best carpenter in the world." Percy said.
"Hello, Penelope. It's a pleasure to meet you. I hope
you like the furniture. I made them with love." Wesley said.
"Hello, Wesley. It's a pleasure to meet you too. I love the furniture. They are the best gift ever. Thank you so much." Penelope said.
Penelope hugged Percy and Wesley and invited them inside.
She showed them around her igloo and introduced them to her family. They all
admired the furniture and praised Wesley's work. They had a great time
together, eating, drinking, and talking.
Percy was very happy. He had given his cousin a wonderful gift, and he had spent time with his friend and his family. He felt that he had the best of both worlds.
